Il mio abito ocra – My ochre dress

E si, siamo già a febbraio e io stranamente sono in ritardo con le pubblicazioni.

Però.

Però ormai è così, non c’è Natale senza un pezzo unico cucito per me. Ormai è da qualche anno che vado avanti così.

Prima la camicia, poi il cappotto, quest’anno un abito.

Facciamo una premessa, anzi due: volevo cucire questo modello da quando ho acquistato la rivista (La Mia Boutique ottobre 2015!) + volevo un abito ocra.

Lo volevo morbido, ma ocra, e particolare, ma ocra. Ho provato a disegnarlo ma non avevo ispirazione sul modello, ho sfogliato le centinaia di riviste che ho in libreria e alla fine ho trovato il bandolo della matassa rivedendo questo modello di Gaetano Antonacci che avevo accantonato per dedicarlo ad un tessuto speciale ed una bella occasione.

But.

Yes, but that’s the way it is. There’s no Christmas without a hand-sewn garment. By now it has been being for a few years that I go on this way.

The shirt, then the coat, now a suit.
Let’s make a premise, rather two: I love this pattern since I saw it on La Mia Boutique (issue October 2015) + I wanted a ochre suit.

I wanted it soft, but ochre, and particular, but ochre. I’ve tried to draw it but I didn’t have inspiration on the pattern, I have skimmed through the hundred magazines that I have in the bookstore and at the end I’ve found the thread of the skein seeing this model of Gaetano Antonacci that I had set aside to use it with a special fabric and a beautiful event.

Così, metti un mercato di una domenica prenatalizia, metti uno stand con dei tessuti meravigliosi, metti questo ocra che aspettava solo me ed ecco il mio abito bellissimo. Fluido e ocra come lo volevo, particolare e ocra come lo volevo.

Semplicissimo da cucire, con pieghe sia sullo scollo davanti che su quello dietro, manica morbida ed elastico al polsino che arriccia e stringe, spacchetti laterali.

Il tutto completato da una cintura ad elastico con fibbia, che ho fatto sempre io, ed eccolo qua.

So, during a walk to a Christmas market, at a stand with some marvelous fabrics, this remnant was just waiting for me. And that’s my dress. Fluid and ochre as I wanted it.

Simple to sew, with folds on the front and on the back, soft sleeves and elastic to the cuff that curls and it tightens, with due small tears. 
Everything was completed by an elastic belt with buckle, made by me.
